This African Shower Curtain is built in three bands: a wide yellow sun disc behind a standing figure in a patterned wax-print dress, a burnt-orange horizon, and a deep brown register of black silhouettes showing vessels and figures. The graphic is flat and poster-like rather than photographic, which is what lets the yellow read as clean color instead of glare. The colour blocks are laid down in wide horizontal registers, so even from the doorway the composition reads clearly rather than dissolving into detail.

Warm Color for a Small, Plain Bathroom
A flat graphic in strong yellow is the cheapest way to warm up a bathroom that is all white tile and chrome, and it works particularly well opposite a window where the sun disc catches morning light. Keep the rest neutral so the panel stays the single event in the room. Not usually. It is a warm mustard-leaning yellow rather than a neon, so it reads golden under an incandescent or warm LED bulb. Under a very cool white fixture it flattens slightly but does not glare.
Yes on the wider cuts. On the 35-inch stall width the figure is scaled down rather than cropped at the shoulder, so the composition stays complete.
Brass or matte black. The 12 grommets supplied are silver-toned metal, but the hooks you hang them on are visible and a brass hook picks up the sun disc, while black echoes the silhouette band.
