Use a bright colored striped shower curtain the way you would use a painted feature wall, because that is effectively what this one is: eight broad vertical bands running the full drop in red, orange, yellow, two greens, cyan, blue and violet, each one saturated to the same intensity so no single color leads. The bands are wide, roughly the width of a hand, which is what separates it from a novelty print and gives it the flat graphic confidence of a poster. Vertical stripes also do something practical in a cramped bathroom: they pull the eye upward and make a low ceiling read taller than it is. There is no white or black anywhere to break the sequence, so the panel behaves as one continuous block of color.

Gathered to one end the bands compress into a tight rainbow, which most people find looks better than the flat version. Because the stripes run with the folds rather than across them, nothing breaks up. Pulled closed it reads as the full sequence.
The reverse carries a paler version of the same bands, faded but clearly legible rather than blank. From inside the shower you get a washed-out spectrum. The strong face should point into the room.
In practice they raise the room rather than pinch it, because the eye follows the bands upward to the rail. The effect is most noticeable under a low ceiling. If you specifically want the opening to look wider, a horizontal stripe is the better tool.
