There is one cut of these fabric cool shower curtains and the composition is built for exactly that square: a brown grizzly bear, roaring, riding astride a great white shark as it launches out of a breaking wave, the whole thing photographed in bright daylight against a wall of turquoise water and white spray. The bear is centred, the shark angles diagonally across the lower half, and the wave curls up behind them to fill the top corners. Everything is composited from real photographs rather than drawn, which is precisely what makes it funny: the fur is wet, the water is sharp, and the absurdity is played completely straight. At 71 inches square nothing important falls off the edges.

It is a composite of real photographs, which is why the fur, the teeth and the spray all have genuine texture. Nothing is illustrated or cartooned. The realism is what makes the joke land rather than undercutting it.
The bear is roaring and the shark's mouth is open, so a very young child may find it a lot. Older children generally think it is the best thing in the house. There is nothing violent happening in the frame, only noise.
The water is a strong saturated turquoise that holds up well under artificial light. In a windowless room it becomes the brightest surface by some distance. Warm bulbs push it slightly green without dulling it.
