Scale is what makes it land: the animal takes up most of the width and the shower head is small above it, so the proportions are wrong in the way a good cartoon is wrong. Yes, the animal sits roughly in the middle of the width with the shower head above and slightly to the left, so the composition stays balanced when the curtain is drawn flat. Gathered to one side, the silhouette folds into itself and the shape is lost, which is worth knowing if you usually leave it bunched.
