A Dense Green Print on a Close Woven Face

Dark saturated prints need a tight weave to hold together, and these outdoor themed shower curtains use one: the polyester face is closely woven and matte, which keeps the deep forest greens from going blotchy where the ink is heaviest. The image is a wall of jungle — overlapping palm and monstera foliage in four or five different greens, banana leaves catching a shaft of low sun near the centre, and near-black shadow filling the gaps behind. Almost none of the ground colour shows through. Depth comes from the layering rather than from focus: leaves at the front are drawn crisply while the ones behind sink into shadow, which gives the panel a sense of distance that a flat botanical print never has.

Jungle Depth Where a Bathroom Wall Would Be

Because the print runs so dark, the room around it has to supply the light — this belongs against white or pale tile, with a bright fitting overhead, not in a bathroom already painted a deep colour. The single sunbeam is the only light source in the image and it does a lot of work.
