Hung opposite the door, this sea life shower curtain gives a small interior bathroom a horizon it does not otherwise have: a pale blue sky filling the top third, a band of turquoise sea breaking into white surf across the middle, and dry sunlit sand below with a scatter of conches, scallops and a single ochre starfish resting in the foreground. The shells are shot close and slightly out of focus, which pushes the sea back behind them. The surf line is the brightest band on the panel and runs the full width without a break, which is what makes the horizon read as continuous rather than as a photograph pinned to a wall.

Roughly a third of the way down, so the sky is the smallest band and the sand the largest. That places the sea at standing eye level, which is what makes the panel feel like a view rather than a picture of one.
Soft. They are shot close with a shallow depth of field, so the nearest shell edges are crisp and the rest fall away. That blur is what creates the sense of distance to the water behind.
It is one of the better choices for that, because the pale blue and sand keep the panel bright under a single bulb and the horizon gives the eye somewhere to go. A dark scenic print does the opposite.
