Description

Embossed Pebble Facets in a Clear Film

This see thru shower curtain is a clear PEVA film rather than a woven cloth, embossed with a field of large pebble-shaped facets that catch light along their edges. Because the film is translucent rather than transparent, it passes daylight into a dark shower while breaking up any clear view through it, which is the specific job a clear panel is bought for in a shared bathroom. The facets also stop the surface reading as a flat plastic sheet. Hung in a small windowless enclosure it keeps the space bright in a way no fabric panel can. The facets are large, roughly the span of a palm, rather than the fine crystal texture used on cheaper films, and that scale is what keeps them visible once the panel hangs in folds.

  • Two cuts: 71 x 71 and 71 x 79 inches
  • PEVA film, not a woven textile
  • Embossed pebble facet relief
  • Translucent rather than fully transparent
  • 12 silver-tone metal grommets
  • 12 reinforced hooks included
  • Waterproof surface
  • Wipe clean only, never machine washed
  • No liner needed behind it
  • One panel per pack
  • Facets roughly a palm across

A Light-Passing Panel for a Dark Enclosure

It suits a windowless shower or an internal bathroom where a printed panel would swallow what little light there is, and it pairs with chrome or brushed steel rather than warm metals. It sits in our clear shower curtains, and for a panel that still keeps a room bright but brings a colour accent with it the Yellow and Gray Shower Curtain is the alternative. The film needs a rod it can hang freely from. It is also the one panel here that needs no liner behind it, since the film is itself waterproof.

Questions, answered.

No. It is a PEVA film, and machine washing will crease, stretch or tear it regardless of what the imported specification sheet states. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth instead, which is all it needs.

Shapes and movement, but no detail. The film is translucent and the pebble embossing scatters light further, so it behaves like frosted glass rather than clear glass. That is the balance most people want in a shared bathroom.

There is a faint plastic smell on opening, as with any PEVA panel. Hanging it open for a day clears it; PEVA is chosen over vinyl partly because that smell dissipates rather than lingering. Do not speed it up with heat.

The relief is pressed into the film rather than applied on top, so it holds under normal use. What damages it is folding the panel into a tight package or exposing it to a hot dryer. Left hanging, it keeps its surface.
