The figure sits centrally and occupies roughly the middle third of the panel width, so on any of the sizes he stays visible once the curtain is drawn. What gathers into the folds is the flame background, which is the part that tolerates it. Pulling the panel fully across shows the composition as it was printed.
A little, and deliberately so. In a room lit by a single ceiling fixture the amber tones bounce off white tile and warm the light noticeably. If that is not what you want, a cool white LED bulb pulls it back.
The gear details, the reflective bands and the helmet edge are all resolved, and the fire is deliberately soft because of the depth of field in the original shot. On the wider cuts you see slightly more of the flame and the same amount of figure detail.
