Despite the name, the black shower curtain with design is carried by colour: a photographic nebula burns orange and gold at the centre, throws violet and blue-green through the middle distance, and fades into a star field at the edges where the ground goes properly black. The black is the setting rather than the subject, which is what stops the panel reading as a plain dark curtain with a badge on it. Colour density drops steadily from the middle outward, so the panel is brightest at chest height and darkest at the top and bottom edges.

It is black at the edges and takes on violet and deep blue as it approaches the nebula. Against a black-painted wall you would see the difference; against white tile it reads as black.
No. The stars are fine points on a smooth gradient, and the print resolution holds at arm's length. It is the kind of image that looks better close than most photographic panels.
Any saturated print fades under direct sun over years. In a bathroom with a small window it is not a practical concern; in a room with a south-facing skylight, keep it out of the direct beam.
