A Silhouette Pressing Both Hands Through Red Streaks

The bleeding shower curtain is one image doing one job: a dark human shape looming behind a pale grey ground, both palms flat and fingers splayed as though pushed against the fabric from the far side, with long crimson streaks running vertically down the panel on either side. The figure is deliberately unfocused, no face, no detail, so your brain fills in more than the print actually shows. The red is dragged downward in uneven runs rather than painted as splatter, which is what gives it the wet look. Everything else is left flat and grey, without a border or a horizon line, so there is no sense of where the figure is standing.

Is it too frightening for a bathroom small children use?

Probably, yes. The figure is ambiguous rather than gory, but a faceless shape pressing through a curtain is exactly the sort of thing that lands badly at bath time. It belongs in an adult or guest bathroom.

Does the red look like paint or like a stain?

Like a stain running downward, because the streaks taper and thin as they fall rather than sitting as solid marks. That vertical drag is what sells the effect. Painted splatter would read as a costume prop instead.

Can the figure be seen from inside the shower?

Only as a much fainter shadow, since the image prints on the front face. From inside you get pale grey with a soft dark form behind it, which is arguably worse. The strong side always faces the room.
