Soft, deliberately. The towelling backdrop is thrown slightly out of focus so the animal and the two props carry all the detail, which is what keeps the panel from looking like a stock photo.
It shows splashes sooner than a mid tone, though the water-repellent finish means most of it wipes rather than soaks. The lower foot is where you will notice it first.
It is a mid blue on a large pale ground, which is the safest combination in the range for colour retention. Warm washes and rail drying will keep it as it arrived.
