Everything on this earthy shower curtain sits inside one colour: overlapping palm and fern fronds painted in bottle green, sea green and a deep near-black at the back of the layers, filling the panel edge to edge with no ground showing through. The depth comes entirely from tone rather than from a second hue. Painted in loose watercolour with visible brush edges, the leaves read as foliage from a distance and as pigment up close. Some fronds are painted with hard edges and others bleed softly into the layer behind, which is what creates the sense of depth without any change of colour.

Almost none. The fronds are layered right up to the edges, and the darkest green stands in for background. That is what gives the panel its density and why it reads as a solid dark curtain from the doorway.
It can if the room already has wood and warm metal in it. Against white tile and chrome it reads as a dark green panel with texture rather than as a theme, which is the effect most buyers are after.
More than a pale panel, since the tones are deep across the whole surface. In a shower stall lit only by a ceiling fitting the enclosure will feel noticeably darker with this drawn than with a white curtain.
