Cream Lace Above a Wall of Barn Planks

The Farmhouse Style Shower Curtain prints two materials on one panel: a deep band of cream crochet lace across the top, and below it a wall of wide rough-sawn planks in mid brown, complete with nail marks and split grain. The lace is photographed rather than drawn, so its scalloped lower edge and open floral ground read as real trim rather than as a printed border. Setting delicate lace directly against sawn timber is the whole idea, and it does the work of two separate textiles.

Two Textures for a Country Bathroom

Is the lace a separate piece of fabric?

No, it is printed onto the same woven panel. That is an advantage in a wet room, since a real lace valance holds moisture and discolours, whereas a printed one washes with the rest of the curtain.

How deep is the lace band on the panel?

Roughly the top fifth of the height, with a scalloped edge where it meets the planks. On the narrower cuts the band is scaled down proportionally rather than cropped.

Do the printed planks look like real wood from a distance?

Convincingly so, because the photograph carries nail heads, knots and grain splits at close to life size. Under your hand it is smooth woven polyester with no texture at all.

Which width suits a wide tub with a straight rail?

The 79 x 71. The extra eight inches over a standard panel gives you deeper folds, and on a print that relies on vertical plank lines those folds read as depth rather than as distortion.
