Across the middle of the panel, which puts it around chest height on the square cut. Sky fills the upper half and the reflection the lower. On the longer drop the whole image rises by several inches.
They are pushed harder than a documentary photograph would be, with a deeper sky and greener foliage than a dull day would give you. That is deliberate, because muted landscape tones collapse under bathroom lighting. Nothing in the scene is composited or added.
The lower half compresses into bands of green and blue that still read as water, so nothing looks broken. Pulled flat across the opening the mirror effect is at its clearest. Most people leave it closed for that reason.
