The yellow on this goldenrod shower curtain is a deep amber rather than a lemon, printed as filled honeycomb cells running down both sides of the panel with a broad white gap through the middle. Three bees cross that gap, rendered close up with visible wing veining and banded abdomens. Because the strongest colour sits at the edges and the centre stays white, the panel carries a saturated tone without darkening the room. The honeycomb cells are drawn filled rather than as empty outlines, which is what makes the amber read as a solid block of colour at each edge of the panel.

Yes. The layout is built around a central white channel, and the bees are placed within it on all seven cuts. Narrowing the panel narrows the channel rather than pushing the bees onto the honeycomb.
Amber and honey read as natural rather than as a decade, which is not true of a bright acid yellow. Paired with white tile and chrome it stays neutral enough to live with for years.
It works particularly well there, since the subject is friendly without being childish and the amber picks up brass or wooden fittings. The narrow 35-inch cuts are made for exactly that kind of small room.
