The Grey and Tan Shower Curtain photographs a seated stone Buddha beside a stack of five flat river pebbles, both standing at the edge of a sheet of water that reflects them almost perfectly, with the horizon dissolving into a warm sand haze behind. Yes, it is a real reflection in still water rather than a mirrored copy of the upper half. The ripple lines break it slightly, which is what stops the lower half looking like a digital flip.
Sandy rather than orange. It sits close to unbleached linen in tone, so it works beside travertine and oak and looks slightly muddy beside a cool grey tile.
Moderately. The face and folded hands are clear, the carving on the base less so, and the whole figure is slightly softened by the haze in the background, which is deliberate.
