Everything about the Heirloom Shower Curtain depends on the print staying soft, and a hot wash is the one thing that would sharpen it into something it is not: the design reproduces an aged postcard, the Eiffel Tower drawn in brown ink over handwritten script, a single pale rose in one corner and a moth-brown butterfly across the lower half. The paper is stained and foxed at the edges, the ink has faded unevenly, and the whole palette sits between tobacco and old cream. The tower is drawn in fine ink rather than photographed and sits slightly off center, with a postmark and a line of stamps in the upper corner where a real card would carry them.

It is decorative period handwriting used as texture rather than a legible message, printed faintly enough that it reads as background behind the tower. Nothing on it is meant to be deciphered.
Under a warm bulb it warms toward tobacco but stops short of orange, because there is grey in the shadows holding it back. Cool white lighting is what makes it look flat and slightly grey instead.
The mottled paper effect does disguise splashes better than a flat ground would, though limescale still shows as a pale bloom on the darker areas. A weekly wipe of the lower half keeps it looking aged rather than dirty.
