Hippie Shower Curtains replaces foliage with translucent circles: a slim brown trunk rises into a canopy built from overlapping bubbles in magenta, tangerine, violet, lime and turquoise, each one see-through where it crosses another so new colors appear at the intersections. The same circles fall to the ground as roots and scattered petals. Because every shape is transparent, the print never becomes a solid block of color, and the white ground stays visible right through the middle of the canopy. The trunk is painted as a simple brown wash with no bark detail, which keeps the attention in the canopy, and a few loose circles drift beyond the outline as though caught by wind.

It is printed, but the artwork is genuinely built from layered transparencies, so where two circles cross you get a third accurate blend rather than an outline. That is why the canopy has so many more shades than the circles themselves.
Bright and cool, which is what keeps the transparent colors clean. A warm cream ground would have muddied the violets in particular.
The drawing is watercolor rather than cartoon, and the trunk is naturalistic, so it usually reads as artwork rather than nursery decor. Keeping the rest of the room plain is what makes that difference hold.
