The repeat is what makes the Red White and Blue Shower Curtain work: horizontal bands of navy and white, wavy rather than straight, with a flat red crab sitting centered in every navy band and staggered so no two rows line up vertically. The crabs are drawn simply, two claws up, black dot eyes, with a white highlight on each shell. Because the bands undulate, the whole surface reads as water rather than as a stripe, and the eye keeps moving sideways along it. Each crab is drawn at the same angle and the same size, so the repeat stays orderly, while the wave in the bands keeps the overall surface from looking mechanical.

Each one is roughly the width of a hand, sized so a standard panel shows four or five across a row. They are large enough to read from across the room without dominating the bands.
Straight across the panel, but each band is drawn with a gentle wave in its edges rather than a ruled line, which is what stops the pattern looking like a deckchair stripe.
It hides splashes well. What shows on a navy ground is limescale, which leaves a pale bloom, and a wipe along the lower bands after a shower prevents it building.
