They are photographic, with the hats and baubles composited around them. That is why the fur reads with real detail rather than as a cartoon. The baubles below them are also photographic.
It handles regular use well on a cool wash, and the anti-stain treatment helps with splashes on the white ground. What shortens its life is hot drying rather than frequent washing. Hang it back on the rod to dry.
Not if it is stored dry and out of direct light. Panels that yellow have usually been put away damp or left folded in a warm loft. A breathable bag in a cupboard is enough.
