Dye load is the thing to know about Space Shower Curtain before the first wash, because the ground is almost entirely dark: a silver tabby face floats at the center of a nebula in magenta, violet and cyan, paws raised on either side holding a taco and a slice of pepperoni pizza, with white star points scattered across a near-black field. The cat is photographic and the nebula painted, and the join between them is deliberately abrupt rather than blended. Lightning-like streaks of cyan cross the nebula on both sides of the cat, and the pizza slice is drawn with visible pepperoni rather than left as a flat shape.

The cat is a photograph, cut out and dropped into a painted nebula. The mismatch between the two is intentional and is most of the humour.
Close to it, with deep violet and blue mixed through the darkest areas rather than a flat ink. Under a warm bulb the violet becomes obvious.
The pigment is set into the fiber and holds well at 86 F. What shortens its life is heat, so line drying on the rod rather than tumbling keeps the nebula colors apart.
