A Turquoise Lagoon and a Timber Jetty

Hung across a small bathroom, the aqua shower curtain does what a window would: a timber jetty runs straight out from the hem toward an overwater hut, with turquoise shallows either side and a hard horizon near the top. The perspective is what makes it work, because the boards narrow as they recede and pull the eye through the wall rather than along it. Colour sits in a narrow band of turquoise, sand and pale sky. Does the perspective still work on the narrow width?

Partly. At 35 inches the jetty is cropped to a narrow corridor, which reads more like a doorway than a view. If depth is the reason you want it, take 59 inches or wider.

Will the turquoise clash with grey tile?

No, it sits well against cool grey because the water carries a green edge rather than a purple one. It is warm beige tile that fights it, since the sand in the image then has nothing to distinguish it.

How wet does the bottom edge get in daily use?

The finish sheds water rather than absorbing it, so the hem stays damp rather than soaked. Spreading the panel out after showering, instead of pushing it into a bunch, is what keeps the lower third clear.
