The Bright Floral Shower Curtain is painted rather than drawn: full watercolour blooms in magenta, coral, violet and cornflower, laid across the panel with the pigment allowed to bleed and pool at the petal edges. Between the flowers the ground stays white and empty, so the panel reads as bright rather than dense despite the strength of the colour. The blooms are arranged in loose clusters rather than a repeat, so no two areas of the panel look alike and the eye keeps moving across it. Nothing is outlined, so the flowers meet the white ground with a soft, feathered boundary that changes weight from petal to petal.

Clean white with a few faint pigment splashes carried out from the blooms. It is not tinted, so it sits flush against a white tiled wall without looking off-colour.
They are loosely painted garden blooms, closest to anemones and ranunculus, but the watercolour treatment stops short of botanical accuracy. That is what keeps them reading as painting rather than illustration.
