Description

Frosted PEVA Banded in Wide Horizontal Ribs

The Horizontal Stripe Shower Curtain is a translucent PEVA panel worked with broad horizontal ribs, alternating a smooth frosted band with a slightly denser one so light passes through unevenly and nothing behind it resolves. Held up to a window you can see the difference between the bands clearly; hanging in a bathroom it simply glows. There is no printing involved at all, which is why the effect stays exactly as bright after a year as it was in the packet, and why nothing on the surface can fade, crack or peel with use.

  • Sizes: 47 x 79, 59 x 79, 71 x 79, 79 x 79 and 94 x 79 inches (width x height)
  • Material: PEVA, a chlorine-free plastic film
  • Header: 12 metal grommets, silver tone
  • Included: 12 hooks in the pack
  • Surface: wide horizontal ribbed bands, no print
  • Finish: waterproof and mildew-resistant
  • Care: wipe clean, do not machine wash

Light Without Sightlines in a Small Enclosure

Frosted film belongs in the rooms where fabric struggles: a windowless internal shower, a rental you would rather not repaint, a wide walk-in where a heavy panel would feel like a wall. The banding gives it enough surface interest to sit next to plain tile without looking like a builder leftover, and at 94 inches wide it covers openings most fabric panels cannot reach. Because it is wiped rather than washed, it also suits a household that would rather not add another item to the laundry cycle. Questions, answered.

No. PEVA is a plastic film and a machine cycle will stretch and crease it permanently. Wipe it down instead; soap film comes off easily and the surface does not absorb anything.

Roughly a hand's width, alternating a smoother band with a denser one all the way down. That scale is deliberate: fine ribbing would disappear once the panel gathers, while bands this broad still read as horizontal lines when the film is pushed to one end of the rail.

There is a faint plastic smell for the first day or two, much milder than vinyl. Hanging it in a ventilated room, or wiping it down before first use, clears it.

Less than a thin liner would, because the ribbing stiffens the panel and gives it more body. In a narrow stall with strong pressure, tucking the hem inside the tub is still worth doing.
