The light pink shower curtain hangs cherry blossom sprays from the top edge downward, so the colour is concentrated across the upper third and thins to bare white by the middle of the panel. Each cluster is painted in transparent washes — pale shell, coral, a warm apricot on the buds still closed — with fine grey-brown twigs drawn between them. The white left underneath is not empty so much as breathing room, and it is what keeps the whole thing from reading as a sweet print. A handful of loose petals fall further down than the branches do, breaking up the white without giving the lower half a focal point of its own.

Pink That Behaves Like a Neutral in a Small Room

Because the pink is diluted rather than saturated, it goes with more than you would expect: white subway tile obviously, but also pale terracotta, warm oak and even soft sage, none of which survive a strong pink.
