The relief is woven in, not embossed onto the surface, so it does not press out permanently. It looks slightly flat coming out of the machine and recovers as the panel dries hanging at full width. Avoid a hot tumble, which is what would soften it.
In a fully white bathroom the damask is visible only at certain angles, which can be the point or can be disappointing. Against beige, stone or gray tile the panel reads clearly as textured rather than plain. Side lighting from a window or a wall sconce makes the difference.
The quilted construction makes it denser than a printed flat panel of the same size, though it is still a lightweight textile. A properly seated tension rod holds it without trouble. If your rod already slips with a plain panel, mount a fixed rail instead.
