Description

An Oatmeal Weave Threaded With Ivory Chain Stitch

Most panels in this catalogue are printed. This modern farmhouse shower curtain is not: the pattern is in the construction. A slubby oatmeal ground with a visible linen-look grain carries narrow ivory bands at regular intervals, and down the centre of each band runs a raised chain-stitch line that catches side light. Run a hand across it and the texture changes three times in as many inches. The cloth is certified Oeko-Tex polyester, heavy enough that it falls in deep columns rather than clinging. Held up to the light the ground turns out not to be a solid colour at all but a mix of ecru and pale flax yarns, which is where the depth in the beige comes from.

  • One size: 71 x 79 inches
  • Fabric: 100% Oeko-Tex certified polyester
  • Surface: linen-look slub weave, tone-on-tone stripe
  • Detail: raised chain-stitch line within each ivory band
  • Hem: shaped bottom edge that holds an even drape
  • Rings are not included with this panel

Quiet Texture for a Room Built on Wood and Plaster

Sand and ivory ask for company in the same family: limewashed walls, unfinished oak, a jute mat, matte black or aged brass fittings. It is the wrong panel for a high-gloss room, where the slub reads as scruff rather than texture. Hang it in our beige shower curtains register and the closest relative in feel is the Cream Colored Shower Curtain, which trades the stripe for an all-over waffle grid. Since rings are bought separately, matte black ones sharpen the stripe and brass ones warm it.

Questions, answered.

No, and it should not be described that way. It is a linen-look weave in Oeko-Tex certified polyester, engineered to give the slub and the irregular grain of a natural fibre while keeping polyester's tolerance for a wet room. Genuine linen in a shower would take far longer to dry and would crease permanently.

This panel ships as the curtain alone, so you choose the hardware. That is deliberate on a textured neutral like this, where the finish of the rings changes the whole look. Any standard hook or ring fits the header.

Vertically, top to bottom, which is what makes the panel look taller than it is. The bands are not evenly spaced across the full width — they cluster in pairs — so the eye reads it as a woven ticking rather than a mechanical repeat.

The chain stitch sits proud of the ground, so it can catch on an unfinished edge or a splintered rod. In normal use against tile or glass it is unaffected. Keep the panel off a rusted rod, which is the one thing that will pull a thread.
