The Modern Shower Curtain Ideas panel puts almost nothing on the cloth: a warm off-white ground with the faintest ivory tonal shapes moving through it, and over that two continuous black lines, one drawn as a large open circle just off centre and one sweeping down from the top edge to the hem in a long S. The lines vary in weight as they travel, thickening at the curves the way a loaded brush does. Nothing else is printed. Two marks and a neutral ground is the entire design. The restraint is deliberate rather than economical, and it is why the panel behaves like a piece of paper on the wall instead of like a textile with a repeat running through it.
