The Nautical Shower Curtains take a heavily contrasted photograph and put it on plain woven polyester, and the combination is what makes it work: a white lighthouse on a rocky headland under a bank of blue-black storm cloud, with surf breaking white against dark wet boulders in the foreground. Woven cloth holds that much tonal range better than a film panel would, because the matte surface absorbs light instead of throwing a reflection across the darkest part of the sky. The colour sits almost entirely in two families, deep marine blue and wet brown rock.

Sharp. It is a fast exposure rather than a long one, so the spray is frozen into individual droplets instead of smoothing into mist, which is what gives the scene its force.
No. It is a matte woven surface, which is exactly why a high-contrast photograph works on it; a glossy panel would throw a highlight across the dark sky and flatten it.
