The navy fabric shower curtain is a plain unprinted panel, and the honest description of the colour is a strong cobalt rather than the near-black most people expect from navy. Hung, it holds that saturation right through the folds instead of falling away toward grey at the edges, and the shadow between folds is the only tonal variation on it. There is no motif, no border and no texture effect anywhere. What you are choosing is a single confident blue, which behaves very differently in a room from a muted one. It is brighter than a true navy, closer to a cobalt or royal, and honesty about that matters if you are matching existing towels. Under a warm bulb it deepens; in daylight it is unmistakably vivid.
Less well than a print does. The advantage is that a deep blue takes a rinse cleanly and shows nothing once dry, provided it dries on the rail rather than folded.
It can, and that is usually the better route than matching, since a flat block of colour gives a patterned floor something to rest against. Matching the exact blue rarely works and generally looks like an attempt that missed.
