What varies is the light, since the fabric falls into deep folds and each fold reads a shade darker on one side, which gives the panel its depth. Under a warm bulb it moves toward plum, and in daylight it settles back into something closer to a true violet. Because the color is carried in the fiber rather than laid on the surface, the tone stays identical where the fabric creases, and a fold never shows as a lighter line.
