Dark panels live or die on how they are washed, and the red and black fabric shower curtain is the darkest here: three skeletal figures rendered entirely in fire, arms raised, their ribs and skulls picked out in white-hot yellow at the core and cooling through orange to deep red at the edges, against a black ground with smoke drifting through it. Nothing else is on the panel. Because the black is a true black rather than a charcoal, everything depends on it staying that way through repeated cycles. The figures stand at slightly different heights, so the composition rises rather than sitting in a row.

Smoke drifts through the upper half, so the black is not flat, and that movement is what stops the panel from reading as a plain dark rectangle behind the figures. Near the hem it closes back to solid black.
It will, more than any other panel in this group. In a small room it works only where that enclosed effect is the intention.
They are rendered with photographic fire, so the cores are genuinely blown out to white and the edges carry real turbulence rather than drawn flame shapes. That is why the panel holds up at close range.
