The joke on this shower curtain for male bathroom only works at the right scale, which is why six cuts matter: a dark human silhouette presses both palms against the panel from inside, and the figure needs enough width around it to read as a person rather than as a smudge. Widths run from 35 inches for a stall to 71 inches for a full alcove, in both 71 and 79 inch drops. On the narrow cut the hands sit near the side hems; on the wide one there is room to be startled by it. The figure is printed in a soft grey with blurred edges rather than as a hard black graphic, which is what makes it read as a shadow falling on cloth from behind.

Only if the door is open and the curtain is drawn flat. The panel is not backlit by anything but the room, so the effect is strongest when you walk in and see it head on. Gathered at one end it disappears entirely.
It is printed with soft blurred edges, which is what produces the shadow reading rather than a hard graphic. Up close the blur is obvious. From the doorway it does its job.
The 35 or 47 inch cuts, depending on the run of the rail, and both keep the figure legible. A 71-inch panel in a corner unit gathers so hard that the hands fold in on themselves. Measure the rail before ordering.
