Description
A Sheer Voile Window Set Into Mocha
Four cuts carry Shower Curtain with Border, at 35, 47 and 71 inches wide with drops of 71 and 79 inches, and the proportions matter more than usual because the panel is built in three horizontal bands. A wide strip of sheer white voile is set into the upper third, with solid mocha fabric above and below it, so the transparent band lands near eye height on the long drop and a good deal lower on the short ones. The mocha itself is a warm mid brown with a faint sheen where the light crosses it. The seams joining the voile to the mocha are straight and unpiped, so the change from solid to sheer happens in one line with no trim drawing attention to it.

Shapes register as blurred silhouettes; detail does not carry. The band sits above shoulder height on the tallest cut, which is where it interferes least with privacy.
It is a separate panel of sheer fabric joined into the body with a seam at the top and bottom of the band. Held up to the window, light passes through it and stops at the mocha.
Warm, with a coffee undertone rather than a taupe one. Beside grey tile it will look distinctly brown rather than neutral.
They sit high on the panel, well above splash height in a tub, so in normal use they stay dry. In a walk-in with a strong overhead outlet, keeping the seamed section outside the spray line is sensible.
