Description
Midnight Indigo Mapped With Gold Constellations
The ground of this 72 x 96 shower curtain is a deep indigo that reads almost black under a single ceiling light, and the star map printed on it is drawn in pale gold: linked constellations, scattered points and a handful of larger five-pointed stars. Because the dark ground absorbs light rather than bouncing it, the gold linework is what your eye follows, and the panel behaves like a piece of wall art after dusk. Daylight brings the blue back out of the black, and the difference between the two moods is dramatic enough that people who buy it for a dark room end up liking it better in the morning. The stars are scattered at varying sizes rather than evenly spaced.

A Dark Panel That Suits a Windowless Bathroom
Dark textiles are usually ruled out of small bathrooms, but a windowless room lit by one warm bulb is exactly where this works, because the gold catches the light and the indigo hides everything else. Brass fittings echo the print better than chrome does. It is the deepest thing in our navy shower curtains, and the Blue and Gold Shower Curtain carries the same blue-and-gold pairing into an architectural photograph if you would rather have a scene than a diagram.

Questions, answered.
Both, depending on the light. Under a warm bulb at night it reads near-black with the gold floating on it; in daylight the blue in the dye becomes obvious. Rooms with a window get considerably more color out of it.
Within each group, yes; between groups, no. Each constellation is drawn as its own small linked figure, with loose stars scattered in the gaps, so there is no single web running edge to edge. That spacing is what keeps the indigo ground visible and stops the print reading as a net.
Hard water marks do show up on a dark ground, more than on a printed pale one. The saving grace here is the busy scatter of stars, which breaks up the surface enough that a spot never reads as an obvious ring. A quick rinse down after a shower is enough.
They are decorative rather than astronomical. The shapes are recognisable as constellation diagrams, with joined points and labelled clusters, but the positions are arranged for the panel rather than the sky. Nobody is navigating by it.
