Hung in a bathroom this fabric winter shower curtain does something a scenic print cannot: the upper two thirds are an almost empty pale grey sky, so the panel keeps the room bright while still carrying a subject. A red stag stands square to you on a strip of frosted ground at the hem, antlers spread wide against the blank sky, everything rendered in brown, buff and cold white. There is no snowfall, no forest and no decoration. The animal is photographed at a slight distance rather than close up, so it reads as a figure in a landscape and keeps some of the cold of the setting.

No, and deliberately not. There is no snow falling, no tree, no red and green and nothing seasonal beyond frost on the ground. It is a winter landscape rather than a holiday print, which is why it can stay up year round.
It is the strongest thing about it. The emptiness is what gives the stag its scale and keeps a small bathroom bright. A busier background would have made the same animal feel crowded.
A good deal, and they are the sharpest part of the image because they are silhouetted against blank sky. From across a bathroom the individual tines are clearly separate rather than merging into a mass.
