The image is a cherry branch in pink blossom crossing the panel diagonally, a pale rose-coloured disc behind it standing in for the sun, and a long-tailed crimson bird perched at the centre with its tail sweeping down through the flowers. Butterflies drift across the white. The blossom is drawn rather than photographed, in flat pinks with a fine grey outline, which is why it stays crisp on the tallest cut instead of softening.

Blossom Against Grey Tile and Dark Timber
